Description |
"Bullseye" Canteen U.S. model 1858 canteen, bullseye pattern of concentric reinforcing rings stamped into both faces. Good condition. It has a pewter spout. The bullseye canteen is also referred to as the corrugated tin canteen. The rings were added in an attempt to strenghten the sides. The Philadelphia depot started issuing bulls eye canteens in 1862. |
